Hotel class: 3-star
Address: 171 Hospitality Lane, Dothan, AL 36303, United States
Nearest airport: Dothan Regional Airport — DHN
Airport distance: Hilton officially lists Dothan Regional Airport at approximately 4 miles from the property. The hotel does not offer an airport shuttle. Hilton

Hilton Garden Inn Dothan is a full-service mid-range property that sits off Highway 231, almost directly across from Dothan Pavilion. Unlike many limited-service airport hotels, it has its own restaurant and bar, cooked-to-order breakfast, an outdoor pool, fitness center and proper meeting facilities. Free Wi-Fi and free self-parking are also included. Hilton

For travelers comparing DHN-area hotels, this property is less about extended-stay kitchens and more about providing a conventional full-service hotel experience.

Guest Experience

Guest feedback is generally strong.

Tripadvisor currently shows 4.2/5 from 656 reviews, ranking the property #2 of 28 hotels in Dothan and giving it a 2026 Travelers' Choice recognition. The category scores shown in the supplied research were approximately:

• Location: 4.5/5
• Rooms: 4.4/5
• Value: 4.2/5
• Cleanliness: 4.5/5
• Service: 4.3/5
• Sleep Quality: 4.3/5

Recent 2026 reviews repeatedly praise clean rooms, quiet stays, professional employees and the restaurant staff. Tripadvisor

Booking.com also showed the hotel in the high-8/10 range during the October research, with particularly solid scores for staff, cleanliness and location.

Skyscanner showed approximately 4.1/5 from 75 reviews, including around 4.5/5 for location and cleanliness. Skyscanner

Overall, the ratings are much more consistent than some of the other Dothan hotels we have compared.

What Guests Like

The strongest recurring positives are:

• Clean rooms
• Quiet location
• Friendly front-desk staff
• Comfortable beds
• Helpful restaurant employees
• Made-to-order breakfast
• On-site restaurant and bar
• Outdoor pool
• Free parking
• Convenient shopping and restaurants nearby

Several recent Tripadvisor guests specifically described the property as a reliable overnight stop and praised the staff at The Garden Grille & Bar. One April 2026 guest also noted that choosing a quiet top-floor room through the Hilton app worked particularly well. Tripadvisor

The restaurant is genuinely useful for travelers arriving after a long drive because they do not necessarily need to leave the property again for dinner.

Main Guest Complaints

Feedback is positive overall, but there are a few recurring weaknesses.

Some previous guests have mentioned:

• Rooms or corridors feeling dated
• Older carpeting or décor
• Occasional maintenance issues
• Noise from neighboring rooms
• Temporary equipment problems such as an elevator being unavailable
• Breakfast costing extra

One Tripadvisor review specifically described some hallways and room finishes as dated, although more recent 2026 reviews have generally been much stronger regarding cleanliness and condition. Tripadvisor

The main weakness therefore appears to be age and consistency of the physical property rather than poor service overall.

Rooms & Suites

Hilton lists 104 guest rooms at this property. Hilton

The room lineup includes standard King rooms, Two-Queen rooms, accessible configurations and larger suite categories.

Typical room facilities shown across the supplied research include:

• Air conditioning
• Blackout curtains
• Flat-screen/cable TV
• Microwave
• Refrigerator
• Work desk
• Iron
• Hair dryer
• Coffee-making facilities
• Private bathroom
• Complimentary toiletries
• Free Wi-Fi

King Room

The standard King Room has one king bed and is best suited to one or two travelers.

Typical facilities include:

• One king bed
• Refrigerator
• Microwave
• Work desk
• Flat-screen TV
• Air conditioning
• Private bathroom
• Free Wi-Fi

For a normal one-night DHN-area stay, this is probably the most sensible room unless extra sleeping capacity is required.

King Room with Accessible Bathtub – Mobility Accessible

This category keeps the standard King layout but adds mobility-accessibility features and an accessible bathtub.

Booking.com showed it as a separate category rather than simply treating accessibility as a request, so travelers who need the accessible bathroom should select the room specifically.

Queen Room with Two Queen Beds

The Two-Queen category is better for families or friends sharing one room.

Facilities generally include:

• Two queen beds
• Refrigerator
• Microwave
• Work desk
• Air conditioning
• TV
• Private bathroom
• Free Wi-Fi

It provides considerably more sleeping flexibility without moving into the suite price range.

Two-Queen Hearing-Accessible Room

Booking.com also showed dedicated hearing-accessible Two-Queen configurations.

These retain the same basic sleeping arrangement while providing additional accessibility features.

Junior Suite with Two Queen Beds

The Junior Suite adds more space than a normal Two-Queen Room and is better suited to families or guests staying more than one night.

The October research showed these larger categories priced noticeably above standard rooms.

Two-Queen Suite / Accessible Suite Categories

Additional suite configurations were also listed, including accessible Two-Queen options.

These make more sense for groups requiring additional space or specific accessibility equipment rather than travelers simply looking for the cheapest overnight stay.

Monthly Price Updates

October 2026 Prices

Booking.com displayed the supplied October rates in PKR, while Skyscanner displayed a USD comparison price. Instead of converting the Booking.com prices using a changing exchange rate, the table keeps them in the currency actually displayed during the research.

Taxes & Final Cost

For Home2 Suites by Hilton Dothan, the applicable lodging tax is approximately 14%.

Booking.com displayed taxes and charges separately from some of the base room prices in the supplied October comparison.

The final amount varied by room category, cancellation policy, payment conditions and selected rate.

No single permanent hotel-wide service fee could be confirmed from the research.

For comparison purposes, travelers should therefore use the final checkout price after taxes and applicable charges, rather than choosing a hotel based only on the first headline rate shown.

Cancellation & Prepayment

Booking.com's October results showed multiple rates for the same rooms.

Depending on the rate, options included:

• Non-refundable pricing
• Free cancellation
• No prepayment
• Pay at the property
• Online payment

The lowest rate is therefore not always the best option.

For someone traveling through DHN whose schedule could change, paying slightly more for a flexible rate can be worth it.

Advance-Booking & Walk-In Fees

No separate advance-booking fee was identified.

No dedicated walk-in or spot-booking fee was identified either.

A traveler arriving without a reservation would normally pay whatever room rate is available at that time.

Breakfast

Breakfast is not complimentary at Hilton Garden Inn Dothan.

Hilton officially lists a full cooked-to-order breakfast for an additional charge. It is served at The Garden Grille approximately:

• Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM–10:00 AM
• Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM–11:00 AM Hilton

This is an important comparison point against properties such as Home2 Suites or Hampton Inn, where breakfast is normally included.

On the positive side, guest reviews are unusually complimentary about the breakfast itself, especially the cooked-to-order omelets and restaurant staff. Tripadvisor

Restaurant & Bar

The Garden Grille & Bar

The property has a genuine on-site restaurant rather than just a breakfast room.

Hilton describes The Garden Grille & Bar as serving cooked-to-order breakfast along with a seasonal menu that includes flatbreads, burgers and other casual dishes. The bar serves beer, wine, cocktails and light food. Hilton

For travelers staying one night before or after a flight, this is one of Hilton Garden Inn Dothan's strongest advantages because dinner can be handled without driving elsewhere.

Main Hotel Facilities

Hilton officially confirms the key amenities of free Wi-Fi, free parking, restaurant, outdoor pool, fitness center and meeting space. Hilton

Paid Facilities & Extras

Potential additional charges include:

• Breakfast
• Restaurant meals
• Bar purchases
• Pet fees
• Laundry services
• Meeting/event services
• Convenience-store purchases
• Incidentals
• Possible extra-person charges

Parking and Wi-Fi are free.

Breakfast is the major difference compared with many limited-service Hilton brands: it is available, and guests generally like it, but it is not included in the normal room price. Hilton

Room Facilities

Typical room facilities include:

A microwave and refrigerator in the standard rooms make the property practical even though it does not provide the full kitchen found at Home2 Suites.

Airport Shuttle & Parking

Airport shuttle: Not available
Self-parking: Complimentary

Hilton officially lists Dothan Regional Airport at approximately 4 miles away but confirms that airport shuttle service is not offered. Hilton

Parking is complimentary, but Hilton notes:

• No valet parking
• No secured parking
• No covered parking
• No EV charging Hilton

This hotel therefore works particularly well for guests traveling with their own vehicle, but less well for someone expecting a free airport transfer.

Outdoor Pool & Fitness

Hilton Garden Inn Dothan has an outdoor swimming pool and fitness center.

Hilton also specifically notes that the fitness facility includes a Peloton bike with toe cages. Hilton

The pool is frequently mentioned positively in recent guest reviews, and the surrounding pool area appears to be one of the better-maintained leisure areas at the property.

Business & Meeting Facilities

The property is considerably stronger for meetings than a typical small airport hotel.

Hilton officially lists:

• 3 meeting rooms
• 104 guest rooms
• 1,546 sq ft total event space
• Largest individual meeting room: 1,104 sq ft
• Wiregrass Pavilion capacity up to approximately 75 guests
• Boardroom available Hilton

The Wiregrass Pavilion can accommodate around 70 guests for a banquet or approximately 75 for a reception/theater configuration.

This makes the hotel useful not only for business travelers but also for smaller corporate meetings, family gatherings and events.

Accessibility

Accessibility features identified across the researched listings include:

Guests with specific accessibility requirements should reserve the exact accessible room configuration rather than relying on a general request at check-in.

Safety & Security

Available safety and security features include standard Hilton hotel measures and a 24-hour staffed property.

The hotel is officially non-smoking.

Hilton states that smoking in a non-smoking room can result in a charge of up to $300, with designated outdoor smoking areas available instead. Hilton

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in: from 3:00 PM
Check-out: by 12:00 PM

Hilton currently confirms both times. Hilton

A photo ID and payment card may be required at check-in, and additional incidental authorization may apply depending on the reservation.

Children & Extra Beds

Children are welcome.

Hilton states that children 18 and under can stay in the same room with their parents without an additional room charge, subject to the room's capacity. Guests aged 19 or older are treated as additional adults for pricing purposes. Hilton

Cribs are available.

Hilton currently lists:

• Cribs: available
• Childcare: unavailable
• Kids menu: unavailable Hilton

Families needing a particular crib or accessible setup should request it before arrival.

Pets

Pets are allowed.

Hilton's current official pet policy states:

• $75 non-refundable fee for stays of 1–4 nights
• $125 for stays of 5 nights or longer Hilton

This makes Hilton Garden Inn Dothan a viable option for travelers who would otherwise have to eliminate pet-free hotels from their comparison.

Group Bookings

Hilton offers dedicated group booking and event facilities.

Groups can instantly reserve approximately 10–25 guest rooms, and the hotel also provides separate meeting and event planning tools. Hilton

Large groups should request dedicated pricing rather than booking many separate retail reservations.

Nearby Restaurants & Shopping

The hotel is extremely close to Dothan Pavilion Shopping Complex — approximately 0.1 mile away. Hilton

There are also numerous restaurants around the Highway 231 retail corridor.

Guests have the choice between:

• Eating at The Garden Grille & Bar
• Walking/driving to nearby restaurants
• Buying snacks and drinks from the hotel's convenience area

That gives the property considerably better food access than isolated airport hotels.

Nearby Tourist Spots & Attractions

Hilton confirms these location figures and also notes that the hotel is within about 10 minutes of Adventureland and Dothan Regional Airport. Hilton

What Is Really Good?

The strongest thing about Hilton Garden Inn Dothan is that it feels more like a complete hotel than simply somewhere to sleep near DHN.

Guests get:

• Free parking
• Free Wi-Fi
• Restaurant and bar
• Outdoor pool
• Fitness center
• Refrigerator and microwave in the room
• Proper business/event facilities
• Strong recent staff reviews

The Tripadvisor score of 4.2/5 across more than 650 reviews is also reassuring because the strong rating is based on a much larger review base than many nearby hotels. Tripadvisor

Its location directly beside Dothan Pavilion is another major practical advantage.

What Could Be Better?

The main disadvantage is that breakfast costs extra.

That matters when comparing it with Home2 Suites, Hampton Inn or Fairfield Inn properties where breakfast may already be built into the rate.

The hotel also does not provide an airport shuttle, despite being only four miles from DHN. Hilton

Finally, some older reviews mention dated rooms or hallways. The recent 2026 reviews are generally much better, but guests expecting a newly built luxury property should keep in mind that this is a traditional mid-range Hilton Garden Inn rather than a premium hotel. Tripadvisor

Recommendation

Recommended for most travelers using Dothan Regional Airport, especially business travelers and people driving through Dothan.

For one or two people, the standard King Room should be enough.

For families, the Two-Queen Room provides better sleeping capacity without paying for a suite.

The Junior Suite or larger suite categories make sense only when the extra room will actually be useful.

Compared with Home2 Suites by Hilton Dothan, Hilton Garden Inn gives up the free breakfast and full kitchen but replaces them with a proper restaurant, bar and stronger full-service hotel experience.

For a simple overnight stop where free breakfast matters most, Home2 may make more financial sense. For someone who values an on-site restaurant, business facilities and a more traditional hotel setup, Hilton Garden Inn Dothan is arguably the stronger choice.
